The company supervising the federal government’s nuclear waste repository in Carlsbad a new project manager.
Nuclear Waste Partnership has announced Philip Breidenbach as its new president.
Breidenbach comes from the Idaho National Laboratory, where he has led nuclear operations at the Materials and Fuels Complex.
He replaces Bob McQuinn, who arrived last year after a radiation release closed the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant.
The closure stalled cleanup of Cold War-era waste at facilities nationwide.
