The National Weather Service has a severe thunderstorm watch that lasts until 7 o’clock.
It also has a flash flood watch that lasts through tomorrow.
An upper level low pressure system passes over New Mexico today while moisture from the gulf moves into the eastern plains. This sets the stage for thunderstorms capable of dumping excessive rain.
An unstable atmosphere tomorrow allows for more thunderstorms.
Places most vulnerable to flash flooding include poor drainage areas, as well as the immediate Roswell area.
