The United Way of Carlsbad and South Eddy County needs volunteers.
It continues working with Nuclear Waste Partnership in advance of the annual United Way Day of Caring.
This second annual event takes place June 5.
Day of Caring puts teams of volunteers together and assigns them projects that need completion for nonprofits.
Volunteers come from businesses, schools, faith and community groups.
Linda Dodd from the United Way says the organization hopes for at least 200 volunteers. That would double the amount from last year.
