Police say a Roswell man terrorized a letter carrier yesterday morning.
They also say he led them on a high-speed chase through town.
The sheriff’s department says the letter carrier noticed a vehicle following her near Poe and Main streets.
The Roswell Daily Record cites emergency radio traffic reporting the driver cut her off and tried stopping her.
She called her husband from the Chisum Travel Center, and he called for help.
Authorities say Jered Leatherman led them to Walmart, then back on Main Street.
Deputies lost sight of Leatherman’s vehicle around Washington Avenue after he allegedly grazed another vehicle on 19th Street.
A short time later, an officer saw a man running on Union Avenue with no shoes or shirt. Officials say Leatherman gave them the slip again, though.
Later on in the day, someone called in a description to police. They ultimately found Leatherman near the parks and recreation building next to Cahoon Park Swimming Pool.
