NMMI’s board of regents has ended its agrement with the alumni association that has allowed the group to raise money on its behalf.
The Albuquerque Journal calls this the latest move in an ongoing battle between the institute and the NMMI Alumni Association.
The regents have also told the association not to use NMMI trademarks or logos.
This all started over the group’s financial record-keeping two year ago. The institute eventually locked the association’s on-campus office and told its employees to leave.
Executive director Dan Whitfield says the assocaition has kept raising funds and giving scholarships to cadets. However, he claims this situation has hampered those efforts.
