Police say they have identified the body that surfaced north of the Bataan Bridge on Sunday.
However, they cannot release his name because they have not reached his family yet.
They also await an autopsy report as they try to figure out how he ended up in the river and how he died.
City workers found the 61-year-old’s body in the Pecos River as they cleaned up trash.
The response closed Greene Street between Main and James for an hour and a half.
Police say no one filed any missing person reports on Saturday night.
