Roswell has decided to look for a private company to run its animal shelter.
The mayor sees this as another step in the ways the city has improved the shelter over the last year.
KRQE-TV reports rescue groups have spent the last year criticizing the shelter for failing to adopt out dogs and cats.
The city continues accepting bids from those interested in managing and maintaining the facility. It plans on employing and supervising animal control officers.
Whoever the city selects must have two years experience in managing an animal shelter.
