A man who grew up on a ranch near Roswell has qualified for the Olympics next year.
Nathan Schrimsher has finished third in the modern pentahtlon at the Pan American Games.
This makes him the first member of the U.S. Olympic Team for Rio.
Modern pentathlon consists of fencing, swimming, equestrian, shooting, and running.
On a U.S. Army website, Schrimsher says he feels “ecstatic.”
Roswell’s Jan Olesinski coaches him.
