Quick turn, quick thinking expose stolen vehicle in Roswell

A quick turn and quick thinking led to a stolen vehicle and two arrests in Roswell.

Police say an officer Friday morning found a pickup on East McGaffey Street.

They claim as soon as she showed up behind it, it turned onto another street.

The officer called in the vehicle, and she learned someone reported it stolen from Portales.

She watched its occupants go inside a residence after it parked on East Albuquerque Street.

Other officers eventually found 29-year-old Jimmy Baca of Portales and 25-year-old Katie Duffey of Roswell in the backyard.

Police say both of them had meth in their possession.
