UNM changes approach to student orientation

The University of New Mexico has revised its new student orientation with a message concerning sexual misconduct.

Incoming freshmen must spend a couple days on campus learning about not only sexual assault, but also financial responsibility and alcohol.

With the DOJ reviewing how the campus handles rape cases, UNM has changed its orientation to communicate with students in a more interactive way.

In previous years, orientation has used skits to show a variety of issues — including drinking and sexual misconduct.
