The governor has announced the fast-tracking of a highway project in Artesia.
This project would widen Route 82 into four lanes between Artesia and Highway 529. It would also improve intersections.
The Martinez administration has ranked Route 82 among the state’s most dangerous.
The governor’s announcement also pertains to highway projects in Taos, Los Lunas, Bloomfield-Farmington, and south Albuquerque.
Administration officials say this funding boost allows all of them to move forward this year, faster than they would have otherwise.
