Roswell’s Rise Up Rally yesterday drew hundreds to the courthouse lawn.
The rally followed a recent rash of violent crime in the city.
The mayor said this rash showed violence could happen anywhere in Roswell, and no family had immunity to the destructive power of drugs.
David Bugarin also spoke at yesterday’s event. He spent seven years in prison.
Now a neighborhood crime watch captain, Bugarin illustrated the difference between wanting to stop crime and taking actions to do that.
Also yesterday, Gerry Chavez from Christ’s Church of Roswell said residents must take a sense of ownership in the city.
