The son of a New Mexico state rep faces murder charges. Police arrested 18-year-old Donovan Maez Friday night. He’s the son of Bernalillo County Rep. Stephanie Maez. Police say Donovan Maez shot and killed 17-year-old Jaydon Chavez-Silver in a drive-by shooting in Albuquerque on June 26. The shooting led to 911 dispatcher Matthew Sanchez’s resignation and license suspension. Sanchez hung up on one of Chavez-Silver’s friends who was pleading for help on the phone after the shooting. Apparently, this isn’t Donovan Maez’s first run in with the law. Court records show he’s been charged in two burglaries. He’s being held without bail.
