Giant panda caring for just one cub

The giant panda at the National Zoo has forced veterinarians to take care of one of her newborn cubs.

The team wanted to swap the cubs every four hours, but Mei Xiang has decided to care for just one of them.

The smaller cub has spent most of the time away from her mother.

The veterinarians have concerns over the three-day-old cub’s fluctuating weight. However, they feel confident Mei Xiang has taken very good care of the larger cub up to this point.
