Carlsbad city council passes resolution against gross receipts tax

Carlsbad’s city council has passed a resolution against the quarter-percent gross receipts tax that the county commission wants.

The council has also approved MOUs with the county to rebuild Standpipe Road around Lea Street, as well as rebuild North Canal between Orchard and Cherry lanes.

Additionally, it has asked for ideas on a leakage study to determine what healthcare services have left town and which healthcare needs remain unmet.

The council has also approved a loan application to fund projects at the Bob Forrest Youth Sports Complex.
