Rates on silver plans clarified

Rates for New Mexicans for the second-lowest silver plans have increased just seven percent for open enrollment.

New Mexico’s Health Insurance Exchange says Health and Human Services earlier this week incorrectly reported the state had a rate increase of 28 percent for the second-lowest silver plan.

This serves as a benchmark for the subsidies that eligible members of the exchange receive.

The exchange says this incorrect report resulted from healthcare.gov not yet listing the carrier offering this coverage.
