New rules fighting aquatic invasive species

Game and Fish has announced new rules that it says can help fight the spread of aquatic invasive species.

The amendments result from the desire to fight zebra mussels and quagga mussels, among other things.

The changes include mandatory watercraft inspection any time an inspection station operates.

Another one means inspecting and, if necessary, decontaminating out-of-state registered watercraft, or watercraft re-entering New Mexico.
