Man arrested for Carlsbad Christmas Eve shooting

Carlsbad Police have arrested a suspect in a Christmas Eve drive-by.

The Current-Argus reports they have charged Emanuel Olivas with shooting from a motor vehicle resulting in great bodily harm and shooting at a dwelling or occupied building.

Authorities say someone sprayed bullets from a car as Robert England sat with a woman in his truck.

A bullet remains lodged near the stem of England’s brain. He remains in stable but critical condition.

A criminal complaint describes the shooting as apparent retaliation for a fight that did not involve England.
