Carlsbad’s city council holds off on ordinance changes

Carlsbad’s city council has chosen to postpone changes to code ordinances.

Planning director Jeff Patterson says the amendments range from defining the size of a brewery and distillery to regulations for train and bus depots, multi-generational dwellings and emergency shelters.

He tells the council that proposed amendments to a food truck ordinance would bring it in line with state requirements.

However, the Current-Argus reports food truck owners and operators have asked the council to wait on all this.

They want time to understand the implications of adopting the ordinance.
