Clovis Community to Hold Candlelight Vigil Tonight

HUNDREDS ARE EXPECTED IN CLOVIS TONIGHT FOR A COMMUNITY CANDLELIGHT VIGIL IN FRONT OF THE CLOVIS CARVER LIBRARY WHERE A 15-YEAR-OLD HIGH SCHOOL SOPHOMORE OPENED FIRE THIS WEEK ON SIX PEOPLE…KILLING TWO WOMEN. THE COMMUNITY HAS BEEN REELING AND LAST NIGHT, CLOVIS POLICE WERE CALLED TO THE LIBRARY BECAUSE OF REPORTS OF A MAN WITH A GUN. IT TURNED OUT TO BE A FALSE ALARM. MINUTES LATER POLICE RECEIVED SEVERAL MORE FALSE REPORTS OF BOMB THREATS AT BUSINESSES. POLICE SAY THEY HAVE IDENTIFIED SUSPECTS AND ARRESTS ARE EXPECTED. Lea County Deputies Charge Carlsbad Man With Oilfield Equipment Theft

A CARLSBAD MAN IS ACCUSED OF STEALING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF OILFIELD EQUIPMENT FROM A FACILITY IN LEA COUNTY. ON MONDAY, DEPUTIES ARRESTED 38-YEAR-OLD JAIME CARTER. INVESTIGATORS SAY HE STOLE STOLE THREE HIGH PRESSURE HOSES AND MISCELLANEOUS TOOLS WORTH CLOSE TO $2,400 ON AUGUST 22. THEY SAY CARTER ALSO STOLE ABOUT 300 GALONS OF DIESEL FUEL. HE WAS BOOKED INTO THE LEA COUNTY DETENTION CENTER ON FOURTH DEGREE FELONY LARCENY. HIS BOND WAS SET AT $1,000 CASH OR SURETY.
