Authorities Identify Men Killed In Eddy County Crash

The victims in a deadly crash in Eddy County have been identified by authorities. NMSP says a 50 year-old man from Alabama and a 26 year-old man from Artesia both were killed when their pickup trucks collided head on along US Highway 285 south of Loving. The first pickup was driven by Ricky Swafford, of Fairhope, Alabama. The second truck was driven by Chad Rodriguez, of Artesia. Troopers say they believe it was Swafford who swerved in front of Rodriguez’s truck, but they don’t know why.

Silver Alert Issued For Missing Artesia Woman

Still no word about a missing woman from Artesia after a statewide Silver Alert was issued Saturday. Authorities say 71 year-old Loretta WIlliams was last seen around 6pm on October 24th in the area of West Briscoe. Williams is described as 5′ 5″ tall with short gray hair. She was last seen wearing jeans and a sweater. She may also be driving a blue Hyundai Accent vehicle. Police believe Williams to be in danger if not located. Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to call the Artesia Police Department.
