Man Arrested For Failed Sunday Robberies

A Carlsbad man has been arrested after police say he tried to rob two businesses, but was not successful in either attempt. Police say 23 year-old Isaac Zamora was jailed Sunday after incidents at the Roadrunner Express and the nearby Petsense on Pierce Street. Both crimes happened within just a few minutes of each other, so police were able to quickly determine that they were connected. Employees at the gas station said Zamora was trying to hide his face using a red bandana. He pulled out what he said was a small handgun covered in a Crown Royal bag. Zamaro is now facing two counts of attempted robbery and four counts of aggravated assault for pointing the gun at employees.
