The Eddy County clerk confirms that nearly 700 residents have already voted early, ahead of next week’s primary election. Almost 600 people cast a ballot at the clerk’s office in Carlsbad, while another 125 cast a ballot at the sub-office in Artesia. This is a primary election, so you will vote for your party representatives to move on to the general election later this year. Voters must identify with a specific party in order to vote in the primary election. Races include county commissioner districts 1 & 4, magistrate judge division 1, 2 & 3, county clerk, county assessor, probate judge, and state representatives in districts 54 & 55.
