Authorities Bust “Large Scale” SENM Meth & Gun Ring

A 31 year old man from Roswell has pleaded guilty for his role in what authorities say was a large methamphetamine ring in Souteast New Mexico. Marcos Martinez entered the guilty plea late last week in Las Cruces to federal meth and gun trafficking charges. The bust was the result of a large-scale operation involving several agencies. Statements indicate more than 2.5 kilos of meth and 44 guns were seized. While Martinez is accused of being the mastermind of the operation, nine other people are now charged in a 34 count indictment. The indictment alleges that Martinez and 39 year-old Daniel Bruton, of Artesia, conspired to deal large quantities of meth throughout the region. The operation also allegedly involved smuggling guns into Mexico. Along with Martinez’s guilty plea, four others have also pleaded guilty to their charges.
