Former CCS Ast. Track Coach Won’t Go To Trial Next Month

A former assistant track coach at Clovis Christian School will not go to trial next month, as scheduled. A plea conference hearing has been scheduled for next month in the case of 24 year-old Garrett Scott Fly. Fly is accused of sending nude images to a 14 year-old CCS student. He was supposed to go on trial next week for criminal sexual communication with a minor. The trial is now canceled after attorney Dan Lindsey filed a notice of intent to plead no contest. IN exchange for the plea, the district attorney will recommend to the judge that Fly serve 18 months probation and register as a sex offender for the next decade. Fly is no longer employed by the school district. A civil trial against Fly and the school district remains scheduled for a jury trial next year.
