43-YEAR-OLD CHRISTOPHER CLAYBURN DIED WEDNESDAY EVENING AFTER A CRASH ON STATE ROAD 529 WEST OF HOBBS. INVESTIGATORS WITH THE NEW MEXICO STATE POLICE SAY CLAYBURN WAS DRIVING A 2003 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE RECKLESSLY AND AT AN EXCESSIVE RATE OF SPEED WHEN THE CAR LEFT THE ROADWAY. THE CAR ROLLED SEVERAL TIMES…CLAYBURN EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE. HE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE. INVESTIGATORS SAY IT APEARS ALCOHOL WAS A FACTOR IN THE CRASH…ADDING THAT CLAYBURN WAS NOT WEARING A SEATBELT AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH.
