Netflix Chooses NM For Next Movie-Making Hub

Streaming video giant Netflix has chosen New Mexico as the site of a new US production hub. Meanwhile, the company says it is also in talks to buy an existing multi-million dollar studio complex on the edge of the state’s largest city. Albuquerque leaders annunced Tuesday that the company’s new activity in the state could generate as much as a billion dollars in spending over the next decade. However, the company is using more than 14 million dollars in state and local economic development funding, but Governor Susana Martinez said the investment on the movie-making venture would pay off big dividends for the entire state.
