Artesia Man Ordered To Federal Prison For Drug Crimes

An Artesia man has been sentenced to serve a little more than six years in federal prison after he was convicted earlier for dealing methamphetamine. 28 year-old Timothy Martinez was also charged with several firearms crimes. According to a statement from the US Attorney’s Office, Martinez was charged by the ATF in August of 2017 after agents seized over 48 grams of pure meth, a firearm, and ammunition during a search warrant at his Eddy County home in November of 2014. This past June, Martinez admitted to the crimes without asking for a plea deal.
