SEVERAL OFFICERS FROM THE ROSWELL POLICE DEPARTMENT WILL CARRY THE TORCH ON SATURDAY MORNING…ALONG MAIN STREET BETWEEN POE STREET AND 19th STREET. LOCAL CITIZENS ARE ENCOURAGED TO COME OUT AROUND 8 AM TO SEE THE OFFICERS BEFORE THE TORCH IS HANDED OFF TO THE NEXT LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY. BEFORE THE NEW MEXICO SPECIAL OLYMPICS SUMMER GAMES START MAY 31st, THE TORCH WILL HAVE TRAVELED ABOUT 16-HUNDRED MILES. THE GAMES RUN THROUGH JUNE SECOND.
