Carlsbad Caverns National Park has a new leader. Carmen Chapin was presented as the new director by National Park Serrvice Regional DIrector Mike Reynolds. She began her new duties on January 6th. Chapin will oversee 46-thousand acres of land, 119 known caves and an annual operating budget of more than 5.4 million dollars, according to the NPS statement.
