Group Claims Oil & Gas Industry Threatens Carlsbad Caverns

A new study claims two of New Mexico’s National parks are threatened by the oil and gas industry. Carlsbad Caverns and Chaco Culture National Historic Park are named in the study published this month by a group called The Coalition To Protect America’s National Parks. It claims that extranction of nearby fossil fuels could impact air and water quality around both parks. The group is advocating for stronger federal policy to prevent energy development around the two parks.
