New speed limit begins tomorrow in Carlsbad

Carlsbad tomorrow begins enforcing a new speed limit in residential areas.

Unless signs say otherwise, starting tomorrow the speed limit in these places drops down to 25 miles per hour.

It has remained at 30 miles per hour until now.

The city council finalized the drop to 25 at a meeting in January.

The police chief claimed multiple residents had requested the change because of traffic issues.

The Current-Argus reports this does not affect business districts, as their speed limit remains 30 miles per hour.
