Carlsbad officials concerned about railroad safety

Rail officials have problems with people trespassing on train tracks near Carlsbad.

Southwestern Railroad tells the Curret-Argus that it has always found people on a bridge on the north side of the Pecos River.

It says this not only presents safety risks, but it also affects the company’s work.

Now it has a safety plan to keep people away from there, and it involves working with Carlsbad schools to show them the dangers.
