Second Gardening Workshop Offered By Roswell

Roswell and Chaves County residents will again have the opportunity to learn about gardening in their local climate and conditions when the City of Roswell’s Keep Roswell Beautiful program hosts its second Virtual Gardening Workshop Monday, Dec. 14.
The workshop will take place live at 5:30 p.m. using the GoToMeeting online service. Those attending online will be able to ask questions of the expert presenter during the workshop. The recorded version of the workshop will later be uploaded to the Keep Roswell Beautiful webpage (roswell-nm.gov/Keep-Roswell-Beautiful) where it can be watched on-demand.

New COVID-19 Testing Registration Site And Hours For Eddy County

The New Mexico Department of Health has announced a new registration site and process for Eddy County that features new self-test Curative mouth swabs, instead of nasal swabs. The new registration site can be found at www.curative.com. Citizens must have access to text or email to complete the registration process. Turnaround time for test results should be between 24-48 hours and will go directly to clients. Hours for Carlsbad are 1:00-4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Hours for Artesia are 8:00-10:30 AM, Monday through Friday.

Missing Person Alert From Roswell Police

A missing persons alert has been issued out of Roswell for an elderly man. Roswell Poclie are looking for 80 year-old William Cook, who is a white male, about 5-feet 10-inches tall, and weighing 206 pounds. He has grey hair and brown eyes. Cook was last seen on December 7th ar around noon driving a 2005 Honda Odyssey with yellow New Mexico personalized tags of T0MBALL. He was last seen wearing Varhart pants and a long sleeve shirt. Anyone with information is urged to contact Roswell Polcie immediately.

Roswell Facilities Reopen

All City of Roswell facilities and services will be available to the public as of today. Days and times of availability may be affected by the holidays and availability of staffing. Safety protocols are being utilized for the safety of the public and employees. To check on days and hours of operation for specific city departments and facilities, as well as learn about limited capacities and specific safety requirements, use contact phone numbers and emails found on the city website (roswell-nm.gov). This includes the Roswell Public Library and RMAC. The rec center and adult center are open for limited services.

Roadway Improvement To Begin On Higby Hole Rd.

The Eddy County Public Works Department – beginning a roadway improvement project on Higby Hole Rd. and the CID canal crossings south of US 285 in Eddy County. The work is scheduled to begin on Monday. Construction is anticipated to take 2-3 months to complete. The public is asked to watch for traffic control/detour signs while driving in this area. The Loving Convenience Station will remain open, with access from Bounds Rd only. Access from Higby Hole Rd. will be closed.
