Roswell Fall Festival To Feature Trunk-Or-Treat

Children will be able to enjoy a safe and fun event on Halloween as the City of Roswell and Waymaker Church put on this year’s Fall Festival. The free festival takes place Sunday, Oct. 31, from 4 to 8 p.m. (admission into the event will end at 7:30 p.m.) at the Roswell Convention Center (912 N. Main St.).

The Roswell Police Department and Roswell Fire Department will have candy at the ready for trunk-or-treat activities that will include a chance for children (and adults) to visit with these local first-responders and get an up-close look at law enforcement and fire vehicles. Also scheduled to take part in the event are other city departments, including Recreation, Museum and Art Center, Solid Waste and Visitor Center. Spring River Zoo will also be there with a special guest, Frodo the owl.

Along with the trunk-or-treating and checking out the information and items available from the participating city departments, kids of all ages will be able to enjoy music and fun activities such as carnival games – created by Waymaker Church – and inflatable jumpers. The festival will mainly be inside the convention center, although a few activities are planned to be outside.

Those attending the event are welcome to dress in costumes if they like. However, no guns of any type – including fake, toy, water or any other gun-like items – are allowed. Parking will be available to festival-goers in the parking lots across from the convention center between Richardson and Pennsylvania avenues. Richardson Avenue will be closed to traffic between Ninth and 11th streets during the event. Access to and from the public parking areas will be from Pennsylvania Avenue. The parking lots directly adjacent to the convention center will be used for event staff and volunteers.
