Artesia Polcie Officers took part this past weekend in the annual Shop with a Hero event at Park Jr. High. The event brings the community’s chidlren together with local heroes to receive gifts, take Santa pictures, and have dinner with a hero. This event is put on each year with the help of local donors including Walmart, Navajo/Holly Frontier, and the Moose Lodge, as well as heroes and volunteers from Artesia Fire Department, Sun Country Volunteer Fire Department, Bureau of Indian Affairs, New Mexico State Police, New Mexico Mounted Patrol, and New Mexico Game and Fish.
