The city of Carlsbad is on a weed blitz. Planning Director Jeff Patterson has sent a letter to the community, asking property owners to begin taking care of overgrown weeds on their properties. Patterson says unkept weeds can grow to an enormous size and cause serious fire safety hazards, especially when they dry out and die. The city is also asking residents to report high weeds by calling 887-1200 or by filling out a report online at cityofcarlsbadnm.com.
