The Eddy County Commissioners have put their stamp of approval on last week’s election results. The official canvass, as it’s called, gives Democrat candidate Stephanie Garcia Richard a seat on the Public Lands Commission, over Independent candidate Larry Marker. A day before the canvass, Marker questioned the integrity of the election and voting machines to count write-in votes. He asked, unsuccesfully, that the Eddy County Commission delay certifying last week’s results. Instead, County Commissioners gave props to the county clerk for doing a good job in holding a fair and honest election.
