An explosion and possible well blowout on Saturday – causing serious commotion near Carlsbad. Emergency crews responded to Happy Valley Road and Jones Street just after noon and determined the property belonged to Enterprise. The blowout was believed to have been caused by a gas line rupture, which ignited into a large fire. Company representatives also responded and shut down the fuel line. Eddy County fire crews remained at the scene until the line burned out. There were no injuries reported.
