If Eddy County officials get their wish, the county will soon embark on building a brand new courthouse. The current Eddy County Courthouse in Carlsbad is 110 years old this year. The county is asking state lawmakers to approve 20 million dollars for the courthouse project. This will be the second year in a row that Eddy County has asked for the funding. The 2023 request was rejected and split between several other counties, including Bernalillo.
