The Roswell Police Department is investigating a Saturday morning (Aug.
24) shooting that resulted in the death of a local woman.
The shooting occurred in the 1500 block of Adams Avenue in south Roswell around 9:30
a.m. When officers arrived, they found numerous people in the front yard of a residence,
including a woman lying on the ground. The woman, later identified as Chrystina Anita
Gonzales, 30, who lived at the house outside which she was found, had at least one gunshot
wound and was transported to a local hospital. She was pronounced deceased at the
hospital shortly after 10 a.m.
