Roswell City Councilor Matthew Chappell of Ward 3 has resigned from the Council after taking a new job position in Albuquerque as the general manager of the Federal Aviation Administration’s Air Route Traffic Control Center that manages the airspace in this region of the country. Chappell submitted his resignation as a Roswell city councilor Dec. 31 and it was effective immediately. He had earlier informed the city administration and Council of his upcoming departure after accepting his new job position.
