Artesia native Peyton Yates has been honored during a special ceremony of the Independent Petroleum Association of New Mexico. Yates received recognition for a lifetime of service to IPANM and the industry, according to Jim Winchester, the association’s executive director. Yates is a managing member of Santo Petroleum and was instrumental in the founding of the association back in 1978. Yates also served as the orgainization’s first president.
