The annual Battle of the Badges blood drive will take place in Roswell July 30-31. Vitalant, a national nonprofit community blood-service provider, is putting on this event at the Roswell Public Library. People are asked to donate blood and show their support for local law enforcement and fire/medical agencies. Everyone giving blood can cast a vote for a first-responder agency in this friendly competition. Roswell is one of several New Mexico communities in which the Battle of the Badges takes place every year.
