The City of Roswell was recently notified of the award of a state grant that will provide funding that will help with the city’s continuing efforts to improve its Animal Services facility. The $168,201 grant for Roswell from the State of New Mexico Animal Welfare Fund was approved by the state Department of Finance’s Local Government Division. The grant, which has no requirement of matching money from the city, will be used to make improvements at the Animal Services facility at 705 E. McGaffey St. that include drainage, heating/cooling systems, outdoor turf installation, and interior and exterior painting.
