Roswell No Longer Accepting Plastic Recycling

The City of Roswell Solid Waste Department’s recycling program is no longer able to accept
plastic #1 and #2 items. Removing these plastics from the city’s recycling program was
made necessary because the city’s partner recycler – the entity to which the Solid Waste
Department was taking the plastic items it collects – is no longer accepting those plastics.
The city’s recycling program continues to accept cardboard, aluminum cans and tin cans.
These items may be dropped off at the Roswell Municipal Landfill (3006 W. Brasher Road)
free of charge.
The Solid Waste Department will be seeking a new recycling partner that will accept plastic
items in hopes the city’s recycling program will again be able to collect these plastics for
recycling in the future.
More information about the recycling program can be found at roswell-nm.gov/1866/Recycling.
