The Roswell Poclie Department announces the arrival of its new armored tactical.rescue vehicle. The Alpine Armoring Pit Bull VX was made possible through the generous support of the New Mexico Municipal League. The new vehicle replaces the department’s military-grade Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected (MRAP) vehicle, which has been in service for more than a decade after being acquired through a federal government program. Over time, the MRAP became increasingly difficult to maintain and find parts for. The Pit-Bull VX is a modern, reliable and more-maneuverable armored vehicle that will allow officers to better serve and protect the community.
