Study Suggests Millions In Funding Needed For SENM Highway Repairs

A new report suggests more funding should be provided to Southeast New Mexico for road repairs and upkeep. two projects alone, repairing about 60 miles of State Road 128 – and New Mexico State Road 31 from Eddy County to the Texas State line, would cost an estimated 335 million dollars. The study was conducted by the National Transportation Research Project. According to the study, reconstruction with four driving lanes, alternating passing lanes, bridge replacements and intersection improvements were badly needed.
