Did you feel the ground shake a little? Some did, as a 3.9 magnitude earthquake was registered by the US Geolicical Survey near Whites City. That’s about 15 minutes almost straight south of Carlsbad. The earthquake was felt in Southeast New Mexico and west Texas early Monday moring, around 8:30 in the morning. There have been no damage or injury reports. The area experienced a similar shaker on January 31st, when the USGS recorded a 3.1 magnitude earthquake in the very same area near Whites City.
