We’re learning of a deadly crash that took place Friday in Eddy County. Sheriff Mark Cage reports deputies were dispatched to an area of 26th Street just south of Tum,bleweed Road just before 7am and found a vehicle that was occupied by 24 year-old John ALexander Vasquez, of Artesia. Vasquez had been ejected during the crash and was later pronounced dead at a hospital. The investigation revealed that Vasquez was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Sheriff Cage says alcohol is believed to be a factor, with a contributing factor of the weather and high speed.
